Shaving Using A Razor?

i’ve decided to switch to using a razor as i have been finding that waxing & hair removal cream takes up more time than i have, so i bought one of those gillete embrace razors.
as i’ve never used a razor before, i was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to get a nice smooth finish, & how to avoid cutting yourself! thanks :)

Rub soap where your shaving like your legs. Rub until the soap turns foamy then just take the razor & go from your ankle to your knee…do that all over. yupp, sometimes you will cut yourself..you dont feel it until after, but it doesn’t hurt, its like a paper cut. yupp make sure you use the soap..if you just use water then that’s how you’ll get cut. sometimes to make sure i get all the hairs i go over my leg again or whever i’m shaving again. but be careful, go softly

Use a really nice, thick shaving gel.
Aveeno makes a good one that is unscented which is great for sensitive skin.

I’ve been shaving since I was 16, it was one of the first things the British army taught me & demanded off me, I was shown how to do it with group of Boy Soldiers by a corporal….. didn’t I look cute in ‘73? http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/S…
OK,….Forget electric shavers they remain crap to this day.
Get yourself a really good wet shaver that will carry a triple blade, I use a Gillette Mach III, ask the pharmacist to show you.
NEVER buy those use once & dump disposable ones, some are truly awful, a rash can stick a long time.
Never rely on normal soap to shave with…. you’ll end up with a rash.
Always shave with warm water, it helps not to shave an area at once, if you come out a shower/bath great.
Otherwise wet once, come back a few minutes later & wet again & start.
Gels are much kinder to the skin than foam, also got to the chemist & ask especially for something for sensitive skin.
If you are shaving the pubes off ……I was one of many in a ships crew who had to do this on the Pacific after a pubic lice (crabs) outbreak ….take more care, it is so easy to get a rash.
Nude photography could have you believe it’s easy, it’s not.
Cut it short & soak well, all shaving should be done at 45 degrees WITH the GRAIN.
Go against the grain even in stubborn spots & you’ll end up taking to much top skin away & get sore….shaving removes dead skin on the surface by the way.
Look out for scabs, moles & spots, you’ll slice them tops off & thats a pain!
It might actually be best to have a friend helping, sticking to the ‘45 degrees with the grain rule’ can get difficult.
I think a lady would want to finish with a moisturiser.
    Have fun!

i never used anything but a razor so pretty experienced.lol.u got a good razor by the way so theres a smaller chance of u cutting yourself compared to using cheap razors.start the ankle area & bring the razor up & down your leg in small gentle motion untill you feel comfortable to press a bit harder.and dont forget to keep your legs flat while doing around the knees as its a prone area for cutting yourself…oh yeah..dont forget the shaving cream :)

Put a hot damp towel on the area you are about to shave for a couple of minutes, it soften the hairs.
Shave in the direction of the hair, never against.
    Don’t buy cheap razors.

As long as you lather up where you want to shave with soap / shower gel & press lightly along your skin you will be fine!
Don’t forget to moisturise afterwards! :)

Use shaving cream or shaving gel it will help you avoid razor burn & irritation. Be careful & don’t press hard on the razor. And put lotion on your skin after shaving it will make it even softer.

Rub shaving foam on your leg & then run the razor along the area. For a closer shave run the razor against the direction the hair is pointing.
